About
Bobby Pin Bandit is an Arizona-based hand embroideress and miniaturist with specializations in patchwork, quilting, and hand sewing. She grew up around master seamstresses and makers who taught her to sew doll clothes at a young age, which transitioned into a unique hand-crafted wardrobe as a teenager, quilt-making as an adult, and forever lover of all things handmade.
Her admiration of miniatures grew out of creative play and a dollhouse she received as a child. The focus on crafting miniature scenes and dollhouses allows us to see the importance of items in our daily lives that might seem mundane, but when we shrink them down, their details reflect the importance of their structure and existence.
Having grown up on the Mexico-US border, Bobby Pin Bandit has always been influenced by the hand embroidered and artisan works of her ethnic heritage. After traveling through Mexico, she dedicated herself to the craft and practice of hand embroidery. This sustained her through graduate school and offered a creative outlet while she worked on and completed a doctoral degree.
Bobby Pin Bandit currently works out of a private studio in southern Arizona and dedicates herself to hand embroidery, sewing, and handmade work.
